This Plumber role requires skilled work in the installation, modification, and / or repair of plumbing and related systems, equipment, and fixtures, as well as the ability and willingness to participate in the installation, modification, and / or repair of these systems, equipment and fixtures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans and lays out work and engaged in the installation, repair, and maintenance of water, air, gas, sewer, steam, and hot water heating and distribution systems;
supervises and inspects the installation and repair of plumbing pipes, sinks, traps, valves, faucets, vents, pumps, and similar equipment, fixtures, and apparatus.
Cutting pipe using a pipe cutter, pipe saw, power tools (band saw), and pipe cutting machine.Threading pipe using threading machine.
Knowledge in safe operation of Victaulic roll grooving and cut groove operations.Assembling and installing a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded, wrapped, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools.
Securing pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.Knowledge in safe and professional testing of piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
Connecting pipe pieces and seal joints, using cement, glue, or mechanical fasteners.Checking slopes and alignment for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers and transits.
Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools.Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools.
Comfortable working outdoors on uneven surfaces.Miscellaneous duties or responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from a standard high school or vocational school and 5 years of related experience and considerable experience as a journeyman plumber or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
